Uggh I am completely miserable with this cold. I am popping nasal decongestant like candy and it is making my thinking processes really slow.

Yesterday I rode my first black diamonds as I am starting to learn moguls. Oh and Vail black diamonds are nothing like Minnesota black diamonds. These are scary steep and long. And they have lots of trees.

Well time to post the comic and finish trying to stop making these numbers swim in front of me.

Well this weekend was a blast. I went riding opening day on Friday at Vail. I also rode yesterday at Beaver Creek. Vail was a lot of fun, it was a beautiful temperature of 40 degrees out and the top slopes had some decent snow. I only wish I could have rode longer. I had to leave early though because I had to hook up Internet sometime between Noon and 4 pm. So of course evil Comcast arrived at 3:30 pm.

I also snapped my binding on my board riding down the hill. The screws had worked themselves loose and out of my board. That sucked. I had to walk down the hill for 15 min in my very uncomfortable boots. Because they are step in boots they have a hard shell which kills my legs.

Then Sunday I rode Beaver Creek. It was freezing out though. The temp in the valley was about 5 degrees but once I got on the hill and the wind hit me it felt like it dropped to about -20. Even colder when I was flying down the hill. Although the snow was awesome at Beaver. I also took my first mogul run ever on my snowboard. I ended at the top of a hill where the only way down was through the moguls. Actually it was not as bad as I feared. First there was a recent snowfall so I was actually fighting to keep my board from getting buried in the powder. Second I took it slow and did a lot of 180 jumps to control my speed. The moguls lasted for about 250 yards and I had to stop 1/2 through them to rest because my lungs were on fire from getting wore out and then breathing in the freezing air. I am defiantly going to ride those moguls again I am just going to wait for a warmer day.

Actually today it is supposed to be 35 degrees out and then drop to 25 for the rest of the week so I may go out today again before it cools down.

In my last entry I talked about getting a cold, and yeah I did. I started feeling better on the 21st but even today I still have the sniffles. Hopefully it will go away soon but at least I do not feel the horrible way I did on the 19th and 20th.

On the job front I got a call back from Vail Sports telling me that they decided to go with someone else. I have not heard back from any other places I applied at. But I have another few jobs I want to apply at in the paper today so we will see if I can't get a second job yet. One of my co-workers told me to wait until January. He said then it is all part time jobs in the paper and they are easy to get.

And since I am getting close to my trip back to Minnesota I just might wait. I think I will apply for these 4 I found then just be real picky about what I apply for until after my December trip.

Quick update today. My throat is killing me right now as I am probably coming down with something. Maybe I will get lucky and it will just feel better tomorrow cause right now it feels like I have a chunk of steel wool lodged in the back of my throat.

I was going to head into Glenwood today to drop off more money to the bank of Satan but it was blizzarding out so I just did laundry instead. I will have to go tomorrow before one of my bills comes due and I get hit with more late fees.

Tonight I spent most of my time reading stories about Tucker Max. Definatly check out his site if you have some free time to kill. You will find it at www.tuckermax.com It is really funny. A number of his links on his site are broke but enough work that you can get the idea. Oh and I got a new error on the ol' Nazi filter at work today. Check this one out. I got it when trying to look up information on a lawsuit against Tucker at www.annoy.com

Well my 5 days of vacation were mostly spent looking for a second job. I did have one interview on Sunday at Vail Sports. Overall the interview went really well. The problem is that I have a full time job and so employers are a lot less likely to offer me a job if all they have open are full time positions. They feel that I would be overwhelmed working 2 full time jobs. Who knows they may be right and I may be better off by them skipping me. Or at least in the Vail Sports case I am thinking so.

If I had to choose between them and some other job I would pick the other job. This is because of the messed up scheduling they told me about. They run 2 days mornings, 2 days evenings, and one day a split where you work 4 hours in the afternoon and then come back like an hour or two later to work your last 4. With my current schedule at the Marriott the split day would kill my sleep time. I do not mind working 16 hours straight or 2 8-hour blocks but that split would not leave anytime to sleep. So on that point alone unless they offer me a part time position I would have to say no splits or I can not accept the position.

Other than that I have a couple of bills to pay this pay period but I have been reluctant to look at doing so. I know it will not get any easier to wait but what I don't know can't hurt me right? Yeah I know I am fooling myself. Well let's bite the bullet and take a look what my bank accounts look like.

I have not been updating the blog these last few days because I have been fighting with my website. The reason I would have updated the blog when I normally do not do so on weekends is the fact that I am on day 8 of a 9 day straight work week. The weekend guy took the weekend off so I am working my shift and his shift. And the Marriott in their infinite wisdom scheduled it so my days off come at the beginning and end of the workweek so I get screwed out of OT.

Anyways just a quick update on my weekend. My roommates threw a dinner get together tonight where we played Pictionary, which was pretty fun. Other than that I a have been working all weekend so nothing new to report. Oh I have a few quotes for the daily rant by Kibo, thus the K. at the end of the quotes. If you do not know who Kibo is you have to go to Kibo.com and read the newsposts he has archived there. To find out what Kibo is, browse the site. Trust me it will take awhile.

I went to sleep at 8 am this morning and woke up at 8 pm. That was relaxing. But because of that there is nothing to report on for today.

Well I got little sleep again tonight. My day was mostly spent driving to Glenwood being pissed at the world in general. Which made for a very interesting contrast in emotions because Glenwood has not much snow and we are getting some serous white here in Vail. So as I am coming back from Glenwood my mood got inversely better as I started thinking about riding this season. Only 15 more days before the slopes open up here. I can’t wait and get excited every time I think about it.

Real quick update today, just so I can get my daily blog in.

It has been a not so good day, I grabbed my mail and found that for the first time I bounced a student loan bill. My old Minnesota bank account is overdrawn and they bounced my student loan and charged me 35 bucks on top of it. I have to drive for an hour one way today to go drop money off in my account in case my student loan tries to direct bill me again so I do not get another 35 dollar charge.

Second the modem I sold to my hotel will not work for them because their technical support refuses to support any modem except for a USR external Sportster. The modem I sold them is a 3 Com office connect and is made by the same company and is a very similar chipset. That means that I have to buy the modem back from the company, which is another 85 dollars I do not have to spend.

Thankfully when I looked at my checking account today I do have some cash still in there but I think it is going to be a close call to get all my bills covered before my next paycheck. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that someone gives me a winning lottery ticket or something.

Snow!!!!

Yay!!!, Finally it snowed tonight. I am so excited. A co-worker of mine was already out riding yesterday at Copper Mountain. I can’t wait until Nov 21 when Vail and Beaver Creek open up and I can get out on the slopes.

As for today’s activities, it was mostly gaming and sleeping, although you may notice a new logo on the main site that I did up today. It is really simple and cheesy at this time but until I make a new one at least I have some type of graphic on the site. And I do think it creates an immediate improvement over what it looked like before.

Now I am going to try setting up a CGI forum called YABBA even though I know next to nothing about CGI. Wish me luck.

Shoot it is 5 am already, hold on…OK, the last of my reports are run. Sundays are always a bad day to get work on the site done. I am catching up to all of my daily comics plus I check a few sites I check 3 times a week and check a few sites that update once a week. Then add that to the super long rant I did tonight and I did nothing else. But because the rant and this blog are the goals I set for myself each night I am happy when I can get so much writing done.

This weekend as I said in my rant was a lot of fun with the Halloween party. I got all dressed up in my ren’fest outfit and had a good time. I got to meet a number of nannies from foreign countries. They were all good looking and pleasant to talk to. I look forward to actual ski season arriving in a few weeks. I am hoping that with the added number of people to Vail it will increase the number of parties and increase my chances to go out and meet people.

The rest of the weekend was spent furthering my goals of destroying the evil of Diablo and his brothers. I really have to try and motivate myself to work on the site a little more. Also I need to start working on the next adventure for our campaign. As far as role-playing goes me and my friends have really been spinning our wheels. One of the biggest things holding us back at this point I believe is a place to play where we can be up late at night and making noise. Also I would like to see a large table that will fit everyone around it and room for maps too.

But I am going to check some stats on the site and play around a bit more before the day ends. Until tomorrow, take care.
