I am currently waiting for some server permissions to update and totally hose up this folder I am trying to share. It has been sitting on the hour glass for 2-3 minutes and I am freaking bored. One of those times when you just don't want to do any work. It is 4 pm and you are wondering if you can hide out in your office and slack off for the last hour.

I will probably just do some meaningless tracking for the last hour. I have a new utility that will return to me hardware specs like processor speed and amount of RAM. I will probably just start filling out a worksheet on all the servers with their hardware specs for the last hour.

Hey cool it only took 5 minutes for the server to respond. Thankfully I got an option to copy current permissions so I didn't fuck up the other shares on it.

Well I suppose I better do some stuff now. I will try and write before the Holiday with my plans and then update you on how it went afterwards.

OK update on that hosing the directory thing. I accidentally locked myself out. Well let’s see how bad this is.

Well we had our work party last night.

It was a lot of fun. Free drinks, free steak, and a gift trade off. I had first picked out a cool static lamp and then that got stolen from me. Then I picked out a cool back massager and heat pad for a chair and that got stolen from me. Finally I ended up with an IMAX presentation DVD of climbing Kilimanjaro. Not as cool, but better than some of the gifts given away. One unlucky soul ended up walking away with the DVD Gigli. I took a bunch of pictures and if I ever get up enough ambition will post them somewhere.

Second Wal-Mart sucks. I had my oil changed on Wednesday and on Thursday on the way to the party my check engine light came on. Usually that happens when my car is a quart low on oil which happens every 2000 miles. So I am thinking that possibly they did not fill my oil all the way. After the party I checked my oil levels and I had plenty oil. That is when I noticed my oil cap was missing. Thankfully the bastards had left it on my engine block and luckily it had not fallen through the engine to be lost forever. After replacing that and my oil pressure coming back up to normal my light went out so I dodged a bullet on that one. Expect a rant on the incompetence of people in the near future on the main page.

Also I got a haircut and for the first time in 11 years shaved off the goatee. I left a soul patch and I am pretty happy with the way the new look turned out. I will have to get pictures of that up also. Along with the new look I also got a new tattoo during the missing two months that I was not updating the blog. I will definitely have to get a picture of that up because it is to cool of a tattoo to explain in words.

As for D&D, we haven’t played in over a month. With an hour drive one way to play and players ditching out to make extra cash for Christmas we just have not had time to get together. We might get together tonight but who knows. I really miss playing and if it wasn't for WoW I would be going through withdrawals.

Anyways, back to work. I will update when something cool happens.

Hee hee, got my new "Super Computer" in. You can find the link to it here as long it is up. Sweet ass machine

The stats are 3.4 Ghz, 1 GB of Ram, 200 gb hard drive, and I bought a special video card for it. It is a 256 MB GeForce Dual DVI Display 400 Mhz overclocked out of the box to run at 425. It is the biggest card GeForce makes right now.

I spent 1200 on the PC and 500 on the video card. 30% of my PC is video card. (Insert Tim Allen grunt here)

But my WoW download just finished so time to jump on that and see what the graphics looked like maxed out.

For the first time ever I need to number crunch and research multiple network security solutions and present multiple scenarios with price tags for each one. I started doing this yesterday and my brain has since turned into goo and drained out my ears. This was a lot easier when my job was to be handed what our solution is going to be and told to implement it. Then all I had to worry about was how I was going to do that.

Now I am juggling price, required hardware, my knowledge of the product for implementation, accessibility, impact on current production, and multiple choices to submit for budgeting. And I have to come up with a rational plan and an on target price range along with implementation time all by the 15th.

This sucks.
