Quick update of the good stuff.

1. I got a case of beer yesterday and found out I have enough points at the liquor store for a free keg of beer.

2. I got the call from the BMW dealership that my name has come up in the MINI Coop order list. That is about 2 months sooner than I thought it was going to be. I gave them my final build at lunch today and now wait to get the fax to sign off on the order.

3. I got a piece of insurance junk mail and decided to get an online quote. End result, I cut my insurance from Progressive to AIG and am now paying 342 instead of 390 every 6 months. I also got quotes on the MINI and my insurance will only be 500 instead of the 585 that Progressive quoted me.

4. I might finally get my raise that was mentioned in my job proposal when they hired me. That means more money I can save for the MINI and puts me a step closer to finally getting a house and settling down.

5. It is a long weekend coming up due to the Fourth of July.

Well my parents left yesterday morning. I was to busy at work to really get a few seconds away to post this update so I will do so now.

My big adventure was a horse ride on Friday morning. The horse ride was to last 2 hours and is best pictured as a figure 8 with the ranch at the crossroads of the 8. My sister's horse got real skittish shortly into the ride so her and the tail guide went back to get a new horse. They then caught up with us at the second part of the ride.

Just after passing the coral on to the second portion of our ride our tail guide' horse had a heart attack and reared up. Then proceeded to fall on her and roll around on top of her breaking her femur in 4 places, breaking her ankle, giving her a concussion, and real bad road rash. The horse then proceeded to get up ran off an 8 foot embankment and died.

My dad was the first one to get to her and started trying to calm her down as she was screaming as loud as a person could. He is first-aid trained and started to try and get an idea of how bad she was hurt. About 15 minutes later two EMTs that were backpacking in the area just happened by and helped us get her into a stretcher the ranch brought out. They then drove out of the mountains on a 45 minute bumpy ride to the emergency room.

We went and visited her on Saturday and Sunday to see how she was. She is doing ok now but she will take some time to heal from a break that serious.

I will try and post my weekends pictures and do a full photoblog for this Friday's rant.

Saw Batman Begins last night. Awesome movie. Go see it.

My grandmother will not be getting surgery on the 17th so now I have to clean the house this weekend because my parents and sister will be coming to visit me next weekend.

Well back to avoiding work.

You ever have trouble sleeping at night because the voices in your head are screaming incoherently at you?

I don't know what is going wrong with my internal clock my sleep schedule is currently as follows.

7:30 am alarm goes off (hit snooze)
7:42 am alarm goes off (go to work)
5:30 pm go to sleep set alarm for 8 pm
7:30 pm wake up (do what I do at night)
12:00 am lay down in bed and toss and turn
1 - 2:00 am Finally fall asleep to wake up at 7:30. (and twice this week I woke up at 5:00 am and was up for 30 minutes before I could doze back to sleep.)

And on weekends when I don't set my alarm clock I am all over the place for sleeping schedule. I will sleep in until 11 am, be up until 7 pm, nap until 11 pm, and go back to sleep at 6 in the morning. But this varies day-to-day and weekend-to-weekend. Really my sleep is all shades of messed up.

Well I was cruising my webpage on another PC this weekend. I realized now when you make the navigation gif 1024 in size that it does not fit in a display of 1024 X 768. I forgot to adjust for the size the browser eats up on both sides. At work and home my displays run at 1280 or greater so I never noticed it before. So I will have to re-design the navigation gif.

But as I look at redesigning that nav bar I am also looking at my chosen color scheme. I liked it when I first looked at it but I have gotten tired with it as time goes on.

The problem is that it is too much of a contrasting color site. It is very amateurish in my opinion. I need to pick one color such as green and make the rest of the site gradients of that that color instead of having contrasting colors like red and green on the same page. Well live and learn. After being a hobby web designer for 7 years I am still learning design and style.

So once again I will be looking at redesigning the site. This will again probably take a month or more so please bear with my horrible color design and it will all go away someday.

I haven’t posted here in a long time so I figure I would throw up a quick update.

Latest news first, my 91 year old grandmother might have major surgery on an issue with her throat closing up on her so she can not swallow food. At her age this is always great risk at complications developing. The surgery may happen as soon as June 17th. This is one of those moments where you dread the future.

If my grandmother does not have surgery or if it is quick and she is fine afterwards my parents might come visit me on June 22-28th. We will see how things back home develop.

My roommate is back from Virginia and the dog didn't do anything real bad. I guess I don't have to "lose" the dog out on a walk now.

My friends went and saw Star Wars for a third time last week. I backed out of it this time. Like I said before, twice is enough. I did go watch The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler. It was a pretty good movie. I don't know if I would watch it in theater but I highly recommend you rent it.

Speaking of movies here is the line up of flicks I have to see in theater.

June 15th - Batman Begins
June 29th - War of the Worlds
July 8th - Fantastic Four
Augt 5th - The Dukes of Hazzard

The rents I look forward to.

June 28th - The Pacifier
Augt 9th - Kung Fu Hustle
Augt 16th - Sin City
