Sorry, I am still working on my site re-design. Been busy, really busy, at work this last week-and-a-half so have not had much time to do anything. But the comic has been in hiatus long enough so it is time to start putting out new ones again.

Beyond that, not a whole lot to say. Read the front page for my goodbye to Watcher and Celtic. I really have nothing more to add to that goodbye.

Speaking of people leaving another one of my friends and an ex-girlfriend will be leaving the valley for Denver next week. Those who have followed the comic know her as Kat, the pink Stikfas. I heard she found a new job and being in Denver she will be closer to her family. I wish her all the best.

That really leaves me with only two girls I know well enough to hang with left in the valley. But I like hanging out with ShamanPrincess and Hardcore although I will miss my other friends.

One last note, I think I will be winterizing my motorcycle here soon. Temperatures are dropping and I don't think I will spend the money to get leathers this year. And if I don't have warm riding gear, riding just isn't very fun.

Quick drop of the happenings.

Work is kicking my ass in stuff to do. Trying to figure out how to get WebDAV working is melting my brain.

I have two new D&D players starting tonight. This should be interesting.

It snowed in Breckenridge, a mountain ski resort town about 45 miles from me. Winter is coming and it is getting cooler. I am going to have to start thinking about closing my window in my bedroom at night.

I went for my longest motorcycle ride yet today. We drove about 40 miles one way to Leadville from Avon and then back again. It was a total blast and tons of fun except for all the rain we had to ride through. But beyond that totally worth it. I took a few pictures and I will try and get those posted soon.

On the girl front, the one I mentioned earlier is supposedly in a downward spiral with her current boyfriend. Unfortunately my friend who introduced us is leaving soon so even if the girl and boyfriend do call it off it will be too late for me because I will have lost any opportunity to make excuses to hang around her. I will try and leave my contact information with the girl but after we lose our mutual friend I can't really see her contacting me. Well you win some, you lose some.

Guys like compliments too.

We just don't seem to require compliments to keep us going like girls do. I have been doing some after hours work lately on a project at work. In a nutshell, I have been coming in on Sunday at 9 PM and working until Midnight or later for the last two weeks and will do so for about three more weeks. Last week I was here until 2:30 AM and I had to send out a notice to the company about letting me know if they see anything wrong so everyone knew how late I was here.

So yesterday the company CEO was handing out $50 dollar gift certificates to those employees who went above and beyond their job to help the company. Before each reward the CEO talks about the achievements of the person and then names the person so you sit and wonder who it is he is talking about before he actually gives out the prize.

His talk started off, "This reward is for working late hours on a new project and making sure", and at this point a had a couple of employees turn to me and say, "So you are getting a reward?" And then the CEO announced someone else's name.

I turned to my two co-workers and I said, "No. Those rewards are for those who go above and beyond. My working until 2:30 AM; that is just a Tuesday for me."

But really I was more complimented that people thought of me going above and beyond in what I do at work more than the gift certificate prize would have been. Those people winning the prize need that recognition being pointed out. My prize is the knowledge that what I do is so important that everyone "just knows" what I do is important.

P.S.

If you watch four hours of Supernatural before going to sleep, you WILL dream about demons and disembodied people.

I got my new camera yesterday. It has got 16 gajillion buttons on it. I still haven't had any time to sit down and play with it yet though because I have been busy at work and was out with a Brass last night. Also on the comic subject, I have not had any time to look at Drupal and the way this week is looking I will not be able to because I am too busy.

As for non-comic stuff, I went out with Celtic and her really cool friend on Monday. It was a total setup which IdFungus was proud to do. Celtic's friend was really nice and it would be great to see her again but she is in the middle of either a breakup or just a really rough patch in a relationship so I don't know if any of that will be conducive to a second meet.

Then last night when Brass and I were at Loaded Joes a couple of girls came up to us and introduced themselves. That was unusual for me. I typically don't have strange girls wanting to hang out with me and my friends. They were really friendly but neither was really my type so I didn't pay them too much attention. Then when Brass went off talking to one of friends a creepy guy started talking to one of the girls. A very short time that girl turns to the other one and says, "We have to go. Now."

They said goodbye to me and promised they would see me again and bolted out of the bar. Then when Brass got back he was all sad that I had let them leave. Well it was not like I was wanting to take either of them home and he was busy off elsewhere. I guess I am not so good at wingman. But if you want me to play wingman, you need to hang around and not leave me to entertain two all by myself. Or at least tell me that I can't let them leave. Not like I think there was a whole lot I could do to keep them from fleeing from the creepy guy.

A few quick updates since most people who read this know me fairly well.

First off, yes I have broken up with my girlfriend. It was a good break up and we are still friends. We just didn't feel that romantic spark anymore but remain on good terms and have hung out together since then so save your, "Oh I am sorry to hear that." for people who need it.

Second on the camera. I have had two people offer me a camera to see the comic continue. I appreciate it and thank you for your kindness. But I have already ordered a new camera and it will arrive on Tuesday of this week. I will verify it meets my needs and you might see a new comic as early as the 21st.

Why not the 14th you ask? Well that is because I am going to attempt to revamp my website during this time. I have been talking with a friend of mine, 156, and he told me I should test out a piece of software called Drupal. My end goal is to reduce how much HTML I have to alter directly (right now I have to manually update the front page to make it work) and to be able to link the comic with my write-up. I may even be able to add in commenting for the comic but we will see how that goes.

And finally for those who keep visiting the comic, I thank you. I will at least try to update my blog so you have something to check out during this hiatus. And remember if you use my Amazon link off of my front page I get cold hard cash in return for every purchase you make. It makes me happy and doesn't cost you anything extra and you can usually see some savings off of most stuff you purchase from it.
